I find it so blatantly sexist and cannot understand why this is still the most common choice?! Like if it were random, as in the couple choose whichever surname sounds best then fair enough (still not for me-you are still 2 people not one but whatever) but it's not. The woman is just expected to change her name. Before the was so the woman had more rights, like being able to own a credit card if she married so having your husband's name was handy. That's not the case anymore, so why give up a part of your intity? When I see those Mr and Mrs signs I can't help roll my eyes. Be your own person. I also think its really interesting that you want to have a non legally binding celebration as this was also the conclusion I came up with as I'd personally want a party and the celebration and fun but don't feel the necessity for a contract legally binding me to someone!
